If the government shuts down again, is my trip to DC ruined?

Updated: 4 days ago

UPDATE: As of February 26, 2026 there is a partial government shutdown, but this time only the Department of Homeland Security. This does not affect any of our tours and all sites in DC are open!

If you’ve watched the news, you may have heard mention of another government shutdown looming in the near future.

No need to be concerned!  We may see a partial government shutdown, but the word partial is really important here.

Congress has passed legislation for several government agencies guaranteeing funding for the rest of the year, including the department of the Interior, which funds the Smithsonian museums. Even if the government does shut down, most of our tours will not be affected! We will still lead small group walking tours through downtown DC and the National Mall, including the most popular Smithsonian Museums.

You can also take one of our Capitol Hill tours. These include options for the Capitol building, the Supreme Court, the Folger Shakespeare Library, and the Library of Congress. Customers love our award winning Arlington Cemetery Tour, see the Kennedy Gravesite, the Changing of the Guard and learn all about the unbelievable history behind the cemetery’s creation.
