Christina Vontersch
Guide
Christina was born at Fort Belvoir, a hop skip and a jump from Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. As a true military brat Christina spent most of her childhood traveling with her family. She lived in Okinawa, Armenia, Serbia, and Georgia (the state not the country), but always found her way back to the DMV area. Â
From a young age, Christina had a love for history. It was only fueled by the many adventures with her family to historic locals and museums including many of the Smithsonian's here in D.C. Christina studied history in College and followed in her mother and grandmother footsteps and became a teacher. She taught upper elementary for several years, until she made the switch to being a tour guide here at Unscripted. As a guide Christina enjoys leading her guests through engaging stories from the past and revels in the fact that there will be no tests to grade at the end.Â
When Christina is not giving tours she enjoys keeping the spirit of exploration alive by hiking and backpacking along the Appalachian trail and at National Parks. She also enjoys finding hidden treasures in obscure antique shops and singing in her local choir.Â
